Twittering our American Lives

by Leo Portugal Jun 30, 2009 @ 3:34 pm

In semi-video game related news, Veronica Belmont (host of Playstation Network’s Qore) followed up on a tweet by Leo Portugal (host of the Bossblog’s Bosscast) about This American Life:

Coincidence? Definitely. This American Life boasts the most popular podcast on iTunes, and for good reason. If you haven’t already, I recommend you check it out:

This American Life Podcast

Both seasons of the television series are available to stream on Netflix and are ready to be watched on your Xbox 360. Or on my 360 if you don’t have the required 360, gold Xbox Live membership and Netflix subscription combination. You’re invited to come over and watch This American Life anytime.

A Life Well Wasted podcast. It has more in common with This American Life than with other video game podcasts and is worth checking out.

Bosscast Ep. 3 – Frankencast

Good one, dude!

The usually happy-go-lucky Bosscast takes several turns for the bleak in today’s edition. Firstly, much of the podcast is lost in a tragic failed-save accident. There was an attempted Bionic Man-like operation, but wheras Steve Austin was made better, the podcast did the opposite. And one of our consoles die, and it’s not even an Xbox 360 like you’d think it might be.

-Some games. Most notably, The Typing of the Dead.

Funeral: I’m gonna throw it away… if it doesn’t shape up and fly (play?) right.

Nerd Alert (The Darkness Remix)

by Leo Portugal
Here by popular demand is the music from the Bosscast featuring clips from The Darkness. And I’m talking about the video game, not the band. There is no “I Believe in a Thing Called Love” here. Gary seems to suggest that it’s best if you listen to it while imagining butt rape. That is optional of course. Enjoy it as you see fit.

The song itself was created by the great Azriel, whose music can be found throughout our podcasts. I just added audio clips from The Darkness, an awesome game that came out for Xbox 360 and PS3 in 2007.

“My tentacles are going to rape you in the butt.”
